Field Trip Information

On November 20 we will be going to the movies, Pizza Hut, and to make an ornament. 




October 22-26

Religion- This week we will be learning about the Ten Commandments. We will go over to practice for mass on Thursday. Please keep practicing with them at home.
Reading -We will be reading the story Hedgehog Bakes a Cake p. 226. They will bring their books home to read to you on Wednesday. Test on Thursday.
Spelling- We are on unit 6. This is a review unit of past spelling words. We will have a test on Thursday. There is a great website to go with our spelling book, it is www.eduplace.com/kids. The spelling words are on the back of the newsletter.
Social Studies We will be talking about farming in the past and present.
Science We will finish up chapter 3. We will have a test on Thursday.
Math We will start learning about different graphs.

October 15-19

Religion- This week we will be finishing the chapter about the Bible. They will have a test on Thursday. Friday we will pray the Rosary.
Reading -We will be reading the story Helping Out p. 172. They will bring their books home to read to you on Wednesday and Thursday. Test on Friday.
Spelling- We are on unit 10. We will have a test on Friday. There is a great website to go with our spelling book, it is www.eduplace.com/kids. The spelling words are on the back of the newsletter.
Social Studies We will continue learning about rural and urban areas.
English- We finished our spider activity. They are in the hallway. This week we will do a short writing activity about fall.
Science We will learn why things become endangered and extinct.
Math We will be finishing up this chapter. We will have a test on Friday.

October 8-12

Religion- This week we will be learning about ordinary time. We will also learn about the Bible. Our next mass is November 1. It's all Saints Day so I will be sending mass parts home this week so they will have plenty of time to practice. They all did GREAT last week!
Reading -We will be reading the story The Enormous Turnip p. 154. They will bring their books home to read to you on Thursday. Test on Friday.
Spelling- We are on unit 9. We will have a test on Friday. There is a great website to go with our spelling book, it is www.eduplace.com/kids. The spelling words are on the back of the newsletter.
Social Studies We will start learning about rural and urban areas.
English- We will finish up our spider stories.
Science We will be learning about habitats.
Math We will learn rounding, estimating, and even/odd.

October 1-5

Religion- This week we will be learning about Saint Therese. We will also start learning about the seasons of the church. Don't forget to practice your child's mass part at home. Father will not be there, but we will still go through all the readings.
Reading -We will be reading the story Wilson Sat Alone p. 126. They will bring their books home to read to you on Wednesday and Thursday. Test on Friday.
Spelling- We are on unit 8. We will have a test on Friday. There is a great website to go with our spelling book, it is www.eduplace.com/kids. The spelling words are on the back of the newsletter.
Social Studies If you haven't sent your Flat Stanley yet, be thinking of who you should send it to. We will continue learning about how to take care of our natural resources and the first settlers.
English- This week they should finish their personal narratives. We will start a spider writing activity.,
Science We will finish up this chapter and have a test on Thursday. Then we will start learning about habitats.
Math We will continue learning place value.

Social Studies Flat Stanley projects are coming home today. There is more information in their folders. We will start learning about nature resources.

Religion- This week we will be learning about Baptism. They need to fill in the sheet about their baptism and return it on Friday. You can send in pictures also, but do not have to.
Reading -We will be reading the play Johnny Appleseed. No test this week.

Social Studies We will finish up learning about regions and maps. We will have a test on Friday.
English- This week we start learning about personal narratives. They will pick topics and start writing at the end of the week.
Science We will continue to learn about different types of animals.
Math We will finish up chapter 1 in math. Our first math test will be Thursday. The next double quiz will be Friday.
